Nick and Clint announced the Wear category of the 50 Campfires 2015 Gear of the Year starting with the Fjallraven: Abisko Trouser. These pants have extremely tough, tear resistant material that have stretch material in just the right places. When we recommend pants, we also need to suggest a great pair of hiking shoes. For that we awarded the La Sportiva: Core High GTX shoes because of the heat dispersion, durability and grippy sole that will make the rough trails feel like a walk in the neighborhood. Next up is the innovative mulit-tool Leatherman: Tread that takes the functionality of handheld tools and puts them on a bracelet. Take this bracelet to the campsite or past security onto a plane without worrying about being stopped by security. Never worry about finding a pocket for your multi-tool anymore. Next on the list is the Mountain Hardwear: Women’s Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket. We have really been digging the Mountain Hardwear brand and this jacket sparked our interest because of the design, durability and cold weather protection, even in the rain. And finally, we needed to award a great sock company with some cool looking and highly functioning products. For that we choose Point6: Merino Wool Socks because they have so many neat designs and because Merino wool is one of our all time favorite materials. Check out these and more products from our full line up of 2015 Gear of the Year award winners here on 50 Campfires.
