Wisconsin local, Marc Collins, came across a buck whilst enjoying a snowy wander near the town of New Berlin. The wintry scene is nothing short of magical.

“I stopped and stood still for a minute or so, then I decided to grab my phone and start filming,” said Collins, who submitted his video to the viral news agency, Storyful. The video was then picked up by ABC News and shared on Instagram.
The buck was about 10–15 yards (9–13 meters) away from Collins when it noticed him. The buck stopped, watched Collins cautiously, bowed a few times, then eventually went back the way it came.
The white-tailed deer is the most common species of deer in Wisconsin, but the animals are shy. Marc was extremely lucky to capture a close-up video for nearly two minutes.
Some commenters liken the scene to the fictional land of Narnia, a fantasy snowscape in the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis. Others were reminded of scenes in the Harry Potter series, drawing parallels to moments when Harry casts the Patronus charm, which has the appearance of a glowing stag.
Winter weather may make it difficult to get outdoors, but sometimes, clearly, it’s well worth the effort.
