A camera captured a tiny deer catching some waves on a North Carolina beach.
An Instagram account, Wrightsville Beach Diaries, shared the video after recording the deer in the water.
In the video, the deer works its way back to the beach and gets a little help from a rolling wave.
While the beach is a popular destination for surfers, it doesn’t look like the deer was out there for the swells. There’s no word on how the deer ended up in the waves in the first place.
Surprisingly, deers are pretty good swimmers. The National Deer Association, an organization focused on conservation and deer habitats, shared multiple incidents of the aquatic abilities of deer. In some stories, deer have been known to swim for miles.
