It’s a busy time of year in Breckenridge, Colorado, with snowsports enthusiasts heading to the slopes for thrilling mountain action. At Breckenridge Ski Resort, some strong winds resulted in an unusual natural spectacle.

On Saturday, crowds were mesmerized by a ‘snownado’, a rare weather event caused by a mixture of wind and snow.
This phenomenon, sometimes known as a snow devil, can occur when the surface windshear creates a vortex over the snow cover. This results in a whirling column of snow rising upwards.
The unbelievable video footage was taken by Tiktok user, Dree Kinder. It has now been viewed by over one million users.
This week, serious chills and temperature drops spread across many parts of the United States. At Breckenridge Ski Resort, plenty of snow has delighted the skiers and snowboarders. However, the weather has brought a few challenges too, with some lifts forced to close throughout the week. The resort shared some beautiful pictures of the mountains and the charming ski town on their Facebook page.
