Using GPS Navigation For Safer Ice Fishing

Shantel Wittstruck, from Women On Ice, talks about utilizing GPS navigation for a safer ice fishing experience.

A GPS app like Navionics can do more than locate a reef full of fish. One of the most important things it can do is help you take the same route each time you head out to your fishing spot. It’s important to be aware of natural springs and smaller creeks connected to the lake that can cause thin ice. Sometimes a creek is obvious, sometimes not. For maximum safety, track your travel routes, and stick to them.
