Fairs are full of weird and fun shows and activities. If you’ve been looking for a new and exciting pastime, look no further than tractor-pulling. What is tractor-pulling, you ask? It’s a competition between antique tractors where they pull a drag behind them. The tractor- and driver- who drags the farthest, wins.
Sound fun? Here are seven places you can watch a tractor pull this summer.
Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulls, Iowa
The Iowa State Fair will host the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulls on Tuesday, Aug. 15 and Wednesday, Aug. 16 at noon, local time. Tickets cost $25 if you reserve ahead of time and $30 at the gate. Gates open at 11 AM. To reserve your tickets, click here.
Badger State Truck and Tractor Pull, Wisconsin
The Dodge County Fair will welcome the Badger State Truck and Tractor Pull on Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 7 PM until 10 PM. The best part? The race is free with admission to the state fair. For more information about the Dodge County Fair, go to their website.
Truck Pulls, Maine
The Springfield Fair is the oldest truck-pulling competition in Eastern Maine. Starting in 1977, the event is sanctioned by the Maine State Truck and Tractor Pullers. The show will begin at 3:30 PM on Saturday, Sept. 3. Gates will open at 2:30 PM.
Super Tractor & Truck Pull, Tennessee
The Tennessee State Fair will have a number of truck and tractor-pulling events for fairgoers to enjoy. Starting on Thursday, Aug. 17, and going until Saturday, Aug. 19, there will be plenty of opportunities to see the competitors.
The 2023 Truck and Tractor Pull, Virginia
On Friday, Aug. 11, and Saturday, Aug. 12, the Danville-Pittsylvania Co. Fairgrounds will be hosting their truck and tractor pull races. Gates open at 6 PM and the race will begin at 7 PM. The DPC Fair Grounds have previously been voted Best Track of the Year and Best Pull of the Year.
Antique Tractor Pull and Truck and Tractor Pull, Pennsylvania
What’s better than one night of tractor-pull racing? Two nights of tractor-pull racing. On Saturday, Aug. 12, the Dayton Fair in Pennsylvania will host an antique tractor pull and on Wednesday, Aug. 16 they will have Truck and Tractor Pull events for families to enjoy. Both events will start at 7 PM.
Antique Tractor Pull, Ohio
As a part of the Antique Tractor Club of Trumball County’s Summer Tractor Show, there will be two Tractor pulling events from Aug. 18 to Aug. 20 in Vienna, Ohio. The race will start at 8 AM, so make sure to set your alarm.
