The Zebco 33 Telecast Combo : Review

I fly around the country a fair amount with 50 Campfires, and I also love to fish. As you might guess, that means lugging a lot of gear around airports, and the last thing I need to deal with a full-size rod holder on top of everything else. This is why the Zebco 33 Telecast Combo is the perfect travel companion. It fits comfortable in my smallest suitcase and leaves plenty of room for other camping gear. When extended it’s a full six feet, so I don’t feel compromised when casting. It makes it so easy to pull up to a lake and start fishing. When I’m off the road, the Zebco Telecast 33 Combo has been spending most of its time in the storage compartment of my SUV. I just in toss a small tote with my favorite tackle, and it means that I’m ready to take a fishing break anytime, anywhere.

As you know, the Zebco 33 is arguably the most popular, reliable reel ever created. It’s even better with the latest updates. They recently increased the gear ratio to 3.6:1 and added a T-ring, which means that you’ll probably win Powerball before it gets tangled. It just isn’t going to happen.

The Zebco 33 Telecast Combo comes with 100 yards of 10 lb Cajun line, so you’re ready to start casting right out of the package, and it’s mounted on a medium-action split grip rod, which makes for a great all-around setup. If you want to stop fussing with rods poking your passengers in the head and always want to have a rod handy, this is the combo you’re looking for, and it’s not going to break the bank.
