The Cooler Rest: Review

I hate to overuse this phrase, but the Cooler Rest is one of those products that makes you say “why didn’t I think of that?” Long story short – a guy is out fishing and using his Yeti cooler for a seat in the boat. His back starts to get sore because, well, there is no backrest. Then he notices the tie-down slots and thinks, “I bet I could build a backrest that fits these holes perfectly.” The Cooler Rest was born.
The Cooler Rest is a simple design that works perfectly. When you insert the arms, they don’t wobble around. It’s a tight fit, and it makes for a rock solid bench. The powder coated metal frame is built to take years of abuse. The cooler will open normally, and you can attach it in either direction. I attached it so the lid opens up facing forward and there was plenty of space to get in and out of the cooler.
I tested the Cooler Rest Classic, but you can get a fancy design with the Cooler Rest Premier. If want to go all in you can go with the Cooler Custom and get your name or any other image of your choosing on the back. It’s a great product, and if you’re already lugging around a Yeti you might as well create another comfortable seat in camp by picking one up.
