Texas Woman Attacked by Snake and Then a Hawk

Last month, Peggy Jones was mowing the grass outside her home in Silsbee, Texas. It was a day just like any other until a snake fell on her from the sky. It quickly wrapped its body around her arm and then things got even weirder.

“And then, this hawk was swooping down clawing at my arm over and over,” Jones told Houston’s NBC affiliate. “I just kept saying, ‘Help me, Jesus, Help me, Jesus.’’

After a few swipes, the hawk got ahold of the snake and flew away. What Jones thinks happened was the hawk was trying to eat the snake and dropped it.

While Jones suffered extensive scratching, the snake didn’t bite her. “I feel like the luckiest person alive to have survived this!” she told reporters.
