Pierce Brosnan Apologizes for Trespassing into Yellowstone Thermal Area

James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan issued a public apology last week and was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine for trespassing into a thermal area at Yellowstone National Park.

In his statement, Brosnan called himself “an environmentalist” and described his actions as “an impulsive mistake” when he entered the off-limits area for a photograph.

However, he added that he also did not see the “no trespassing” sign nor any warnings of danger as the ground was covered in snow.

“I deeply regret my transgression and offer my heartfelt apologies to all for trespassing in this sensitive area,” Brosnan said.

According to court documents, Brosnan was cited for trespassing back in November, while he was filming the movie Unholy Trinity.

The social media channel Tourons of Yellowstone is credited with sharing pictures of Brosnan while posing in off-limit areas of the park.

A judge ordered him to pay a $1,540 fine for trespassing into a thermal area but dismissed the charge of violating closures.
