The company says demand has led them to add new trips for popular destinations. These trips include California’s wine country, Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness, the Pacific Northwest, and more.

REI also operates camps that are focused on adventure as well. Currently, they have three signature camps near Bryce Canyon, Great Smoky Mountains, and Zion National Parks. The company described staying at the Bryce Canyon camp with this:

“Guests discover the distinct charm and rugged beauty by hiking less traveled trails. After a stay at a cozy lodge, the group travels to the otherworldly Bryce Canyon National Park. Two incredible days explore the remarkable geological playground of vibrantly colored hoodoos (sandstone spires) that create a magical landscape. Nights are spent at REI’s signature camp where stargazing is unparalleled.”

The company says they’re adding a fourth camp to Arizona, outside the Grand Canyon. The newest camp is on a 20-acre land in Williams, Arizona. The company says the new destination is self-sustaining and prioritizes its impact on the planet.

REI already has multiple trips to the Grand Canyon that people can book. The new camp will only build on this by adding several excursions lasting from three to eight days.

The company says out of all their trips around the U.S., adventure in California and Washington usually have the highest demand.

REI says members get special pricing next month on trips. Members can save either 10% or up to $429 per person for an adventure.

The announcement is good news for the company that started the year with massive layoffs
