NPS Opens Civil Rights Grant Program Applications

New grants are now available for those working to preserve and protect a critical part of America’s history. The African American Civil Rights Grant program is open for applications.

States, local governments, non-profit organizations and more can request funding for projects that preserve physical buildings, sites and items or history projects that help education or research purposes. The focus is on things connected to the Civil Rights movement, from the Transatlantic Slave Trade to the modern day.

Grants can range from $15,000 to $750,000, depending on the proposal and the project. The funding was made available through the National Park Service. Applications are due by October 10, 2023. Learn more.
