When it comes to portable coolers, we have pretty much tried them all. We have a few key requirements for any dry bag style cooler. They need to be, well, portable. Are you able to pick up and go with it? It also needs to be packable so when you are not using it, it doesn’t take up a bunch of space. And of course, does it keep things cold? The MountainSmith Roll Top Cooler was designed to travel. From its rugged design to lightweight construction, let’s find out what we liked about the Roll Top.

Functionality: The roll top closure system MountainSmith has used is a really nice feature to this cooler. It is extremely simple to secure and it works. That’s a win in our eyes. It also features tie down loops to secure your cooler in a boat or the car. In our opinion, the best part is that MountainSmith designed a Modular Hauler System where you can neatly and efficiently store this cooler, as well as many other products MountainSmith makes, in one easy to carry system.
Durability:The RipStop shell material used for the Roll Top Cooler is super durable. We would have no problem taking this cooler on any trip we would want to take. The carry handles are securely attached to the body which will make for worry free carrying (even with the cooler completely loaded down).
Weight: A portable dry bag style cooler needs to be lightweight. At less than 2 pounds, and with 1800 cu. in. of storage space, you are getting loads of features and durability in a lightweight package.
Value: At $44.95, it is very reasonably priced compared to similar coolers. Pair the great features with a reasonable price, this just may be your next dry bag style cooler.
