Being comfortable is important in creating new memories outside. It is tough to sit around the fire and tell stories with nothing to sit on. Here is what we loved about the Low Rider:
Functionality: The powder-coated steel is wrapped with plenty of padded material for the arm rests. This also comes in handy when getting out of the chair because the armrests are at the perfect height to help yourself up. The Low Rider Camp Chair also comes with a carrying case that you can easily fit the chair into. With functionality, I also think about where this chair can go. Really, it can go anywhere. From an outdoor music stage to car camping, the applications are endless because of its size and seating position (9 inches from the ground). It also makes a perfect beach chair.
Comfort: An absolute dynamite feature of this chair is the mesh seat. It allows for breathability on hot summer days. The mesh also keeps water from pooling on the seat if it happens to be out in the rain. The padded armrests are a nice touch for both while you are sitting and when you stand up. With the height of the chair (you sit 9 inches from the ground) the ground acts as an instant footrest wherever you go.
Weight: At under 7 pounds, the L.L.Bean Low Rider Camp Chair lives up to its claims as being portable. Remember, that the frame is made of steel and not aluminum. Adding a few more ounces for a chair frame that won’t bend is a win in our eyes.
Durability: With a powder-coated steel frame, this chair is built to last. We have all had portable chairs in the past where the legs bend or the chair fabric rips. Not wit this chair. The polyester mesh is robust, yet provides breathability.
Value: Just in terms of money, we feel it is a great value at $39.95. Think about all the money you have put into outdoor chairs that have broken over the years. The Low Rider is reasonably priced and built like a tank. The legs are shorter and made of steel which makes them very difficult to bend. The real value though comes in portability and the number of places you can enjoy this chair. You can take it around the fire, to the beach, a concert lawn, an outdoor movie, or anywhere in-between.
