Somewhere in Florida, a brave dog showed absolutely no fear as he scared off an alligator from a family’s back porch. In a video posted by Natalia Rojas, a self-taught artist and illustrator, to her public, art-focused Instagram page, it’s clear whose house this is. And it’s not the gator’s house.

At the start of the clip, a woman peeks around a wall at an alligator just a foot away on the other side of a sliding glass door. She says, “Go away.”
Then, the family’s dog, a beagle named Pinto, comes up to the door, notices the alligator, and immediately starts barking. The sudden noise scares the alligator, which visibly jolts when it hears the dog barking. Then, the gator runs away somewhat comically, as its tail whips back and forth.

After her video went viral, Rojas got tired of unkind comments and turned commenting off on the original video. In a follow-up post, she wrote, “If you came for my gator video, I hope you stay for my art.”
Her art is truly lovely and focuses on hyper-realistic drawings and illustrations of birds.
