Is Youtuber Shugemery a little crazy? Probably. Does he know what he’s doing when it comes to winter camping? Absolutely. He’s a veteran hammock camper that has been sharing tips on Youtube since 2008. He’s inspired many people to dig their hammock out of the camp box in February and try their hand at surviving in subzero temperatures. He is the perfect example of our favorite saying “There is no such thing as bad weather, only ill-prepared travelers.”
In this video, Shugemery heads out for a few nights in Bear Head Lake State Park in Ely, MN to hammock camp in -40F. Despite the frigid temps, it’s quite clear that he manages to have a great time.
