Get To Know San Miguel Park

When was San Miguel Park founded? How did it start?
San Miguel Park plans were approved August 1971. The Recreation Parks were conceived in 1969 as part of the FERC relicensing process. FERC required that recreational facilities be included in Toledo Bend Reservoir. The park has 108 acres of wooded land with 1.5 miles of shoreline.

Being right on the Toledo Bend Reservoir guests love to spend time on the water. The reservoir is known for its great fishing. But boating, jet skiing and swimming by the beach are other popular activities. If water isn’t your thing hit the trails and do some hiking or biking. During your journey take a break at a waterfront picnic shelter and have a bite to eat. There are some great bird watching opportunities while on the trails or through out the entire park.

Where is San Miguel located? What are some other attractions in the area worth checking out?
San Miguel Park is south of Zwolle and north of Pendleton Bridge, close to Zwolle. (381 San Miguel Road, Zwolle, La 71486. Phone: 318-645-6748). There are many great things to do in the nearby towns such as the beautiful Hodges Gardens, learn about the civil war at Fort Jesup State Historic Site, or play a round of golf at the impressive Cypress Bend Golf Resort.

The park has a total of 40 RV sites with 20, 30, 50 amp service full hook-ups (water, sewer, and elec.) 30 of the campsites are monthly sites. There are also 20 great tent sites that have a beautiful waterfront view and a bathhouse close. San Miguel Park also offers 14 A-Frame cabins for rent. All cabins are fully furnished. The park has a dump station for the sewer to be disposed. They are more secluded in some of the wooded areas. None of the RV sites are waterfront.
