Popular picnic hotspot – Rock Creek State Park
One of the most popular camping destinations in Central Iowa’s is Rock Creek State Park. There are approximately 200 campsites that fence the lake. You can get your online reservations done through the park reservation system if your holiday to this camping site is pre planned. Out of 200, 101 campsites are with electrical hook-ups. All the campsites have the facilities of modern restrooms and showers. Most of the campsites of Rock Creek Park are booked on the first come first basis.

Camping at Rock Creek State Park
After reaching the park you can enjoy different amenities available at campsite. Bird watching, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, canoeing, a boat launch ramp, horse back riding, snowmobiling, walking, trails and cross country skiing are some of the activities available from camp. Rock Creek was declared as Central Iowa’s major state park on 24th August, 1952. The lake which surrounds this park is 602 acres and is considered to be the third largest artificial impoundment. This park is famous for offering versatile activities for all kind of people.
Things To Do at Rock Creek State Park
You can enjoy awesome swimming and sun bathing on the beach. The shore line of lake is 15 miles in length and is perfect for fishing. Anglers can try their skills at bluegill, catfish, bullhead and saugeye.
