The campground in this park is a hotspot that is visited by thousands of individuals every year. There are full service campgrounds with electric, sewer, water, and showers. There are also limited service campgrounds with just electric and sewage hookups. Cottages and cabins are also readily available on a first come, first serve basis for individuals who prefer to sleep in a real bed.

The park features four-season cottages, day use areas, dump stations, food concessions, nature trails, pet areas, pavilions, picnic areas, restrooms, showers, and RV sites. The Thompson Island Trail is one of the highlighted features that draw guests who enjoy hiking and being one with nature to this particular park.

Some guests come to this park to get married, some come to celebrate birthdays, and others for family reunions. There’s also an assortment of activities hosted by this park including biking, boating, camping, crabbing, nature programs, hiking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, picnicking, surfing, swimming, and kayaking. The park is open from 8AM to sunset every day of the week. The park office is open from 8AM to 4PM during the week. From April to October the park is also open the weekend.
