There are two cabins open to the public at Bird Creek, two in Ekutna Lake and one located at Eagle River. Each campsite includes picnic tables, fire rings and restrooms and water close by. Eagle River also contains a ten mile trail. Visitors can participate in a guided walk that is given in certain seasons. Eklutna Lake allows visitors to go boating, skiing and hiking. Many visitors also go mountain hiking in Chugach State Park.
Chugach State Park is an excellent place to observe wildlife. Visitors can often see moose and bears roaming around the park. Though encouraged to observe, visitors are advised to do so safely. The staff of Chugach State Park can give advice on how to handle an encounter with a bear or a moose. Campers should be careful not to tempt animals to their site.
Using certain facilities within the Chugach State Park will cost visitors a fee. Park visitors can pay the fees onsite, online or by purchasing an annual pass.
