After I watched Rambo as a kid, I was desperate to get my hands on a survival knife. I known you’ve seen them. The handle is hollow and holds matches, fishing line and a few other things. I finally bought one with my allowance and thought I was the coolest kid in the world. Well, the fine folks who make the Cache Belt reached out to us and I have to say that when it came in the mail I had the exact same feeling as when I bought my survival knife.
The only difference is that the Cache Belt is actually well designed, and is basically a conceal and carry item when it comes to survival gear. No one knows what is in it, and you always have it with you. They launched on Kickstarter by asking for $7,500 and have now exceeded $180,000. I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I’ll tell you first off that it’s simply a very comfortable belt. If it didn’t have that going for it what would be the point? You’d never wear it. I have mine in what I would call “urban mode” most of the time which means that I’m carrying caffeine, aspirin, a few band-aids, Neosporin, memory cards, a phone cable, and $100. It’s a clever way to travel, because you quickly forget that you filled it up with tailored essentials, and you have them if you need them.
