Two top brands in the space are MUD\WTR and Everyday Dose. I’ve tried them both. Here’s some information to help you decide on the right product for you.

Best Coffee Alternative: Everyday Dose Mushroom Coffee+
If you’re looking for something that actually tastes like coffee, Everyday Dose’s Mushroom Coffee+ is the top choice. In addition to the mushrooms and nootropics blend, which includes chaga and lion’s mane fruiting bodies, Dose’s Mushroom Coffee+ also includes coffee bean extract, which gives it that coffee flavor and a caffeine kick. Plus, there’s collagen protein, making it a functional supplement that doesn’t make you crash and burn.
Everyday Dose’s starter kit comes with everything you need to get up and running—30 servings Mushroom Coffee+, a rechargeable frother, and a gunmetal Dose Spoon. The packaging is cool, the frother works great, and the Dose Spoon is the cherry on top.
Mushroom Coffee+ blends so smoothly, you don’t even really need the frother. The powder doesn’t settle at the bottom, either. As a person who is sensitive to caffeine, I appreciate that it tastes good even if I don’t make a strong brew.
Though I haven’t tried it, Everyday Dose also offers a matcha version of its product, the Mushroom Matcha+.
Best Without Caffeine: MUD\WTR :rest Rooibos
Of MUD\WTR’s four flavors, I’ve tried three, and none of them taste like coffee. Of course, that doesn’t mean that they don’t taste good. My top MUD\WTR recommendation is the 0mg caffeine :rest Rooibos blend. It’s truly lovely.
MUD\WTR :rest Rooibos is made with an organic mushroom blend, including turkey tail and reishi mushrooms, plus ingredients like organic rooibos tea extract and a spice blend with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and more. There’s a version of this same spice blend in MUD\WTR’s original blend (Masala Chai) and its :balance Turmeric blend as well.
No matter which blend you select, MUD\WTR starter kits come with a 30-serving tin and a rechargeable frother. I like that the product comes in a reusable tin. The blends I’ve tried are on the coarse side, and you definitely need the frother to blend them smooth. Sediment will settle at the bottom of your cup, so you may need to refroth halfway through your drink if that bothers you.
If you like the taste of chai, MUD\WTR has several options you’ll probably enjoy. In my opinion, the caffeine-free :rest Rooibos blend is the best tasting. However, if you want a caffeine boost, go with the Masala Chai original blend. (MUD\WTR also makes a matcha blend with slightly more caffeine, if matcha is your thing.)

Please do your own research on the potential benefits and potential risks before consuming mushroom supplements.
Final Thoughts
For a drink that tastes like coffee and provides a caffeine boost, Everyday Dose Mushroom Coffee+ is the best choice. For a decaf coffee alternative, MUD\WTR :rest Rooibos is a great go-to choice that’s both tasty and satisfying.
