According to their press release, 60-year-old Barry Bostwick failed to appear for sentencing. He is now wanted for a felony arrest warrant. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The warning comes from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, which is in Pennsylvania. The section of trail is in Pennsylvania near the Duncannon area and the Susquehanna River.

“Hikers in the area should exercise extreme caution and not engage with Bostwick if they come across him,” the Appalachian Trail Conservancy wrote in their statement. “In any emergency, including threats to your personal safety, always call 911.”

The ATC is a nonprofit organization focusing on the conservation of the Appalachian Trail.
