In the statement, the zoo’s executive director, Dr. Chris Kuhar, explained that you’ll not only get to watch the animals in action but also have a chance to name the newborn female.
The live stream will show the zoo’s gorilla troop consisting of an adult male named Mokolo; four adult females named Kebi Moyo, Fredrika, Nneka, and Tusa; and two babies named Keyembe and unnamed newborn.
“We can’t wait for people from all around the world to get to know our dynamic gorilla troop and elevate the work that’s being done to save this critically endangered species,” Kuhar said.
The live stream launches on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. Eastern and will air every Thursday for the rest of the month on Netflix.
Also, the zoo will open up voting for the newborn’s name at 10 a.m. Eastern on Thursday on the park’s Instagram page and conclude at midnight on Sept. 12.
