The long holiday weekend is proving to be a headache for visitors to some National Parks.

Parking in Yosemite closed this morning at 8:21 a.m. Similar scenes played out this past weekend and have been an issue for the last few weeks.
A recent viral video showed backed-up traffic, making the Yosemite Valley look more like a freeway in Los Angeles than one of the nation’s most popular destinations to get outside.
The Ansel Adams Gallery, which is located inside the park, posted urging visitors to get to the park before 8 a.m. if they want to avoid lines and find parking. The post says that once parking is full, parts of the park close and traffic is diverted back out of the park.
Many commenters are upset with the park’s decision to remove the reservation system. Although similar destinations like Rocky Mountain National Park, Yosemite ended the program this summer.
Park officials say visitors should only park in designated areas.
