Dockweiler State Beach is located in Los Angeles, California. Even though the beach is considered to be a member of the California state park system, it is actually managed by the Los Angeles Beaches and Harbors Department. This 91-arce beach was established in the year 1948. Originally the beach was part of the Venice-Hyperion Beach State Park. However, it was renamed Dockweiler State Beach in 1955 after a politician and lawyer named Angeleno Isidore B. Dockweiler.
