Hydration Backpack
If you’re going to spend a day out on the trails, you’re going to need something to carry your essentials. We love a multipurpose backpack / hydration pack – as you’ve got plenty of room to carry, not to mention – stay hydrated.
Bluetooth Speaker & Phone
Hikes are the perfect time to jam to some of your favorite tunes, so a Bluetooth speaker that connects to your smartphone is a great essential for your pack. In addition, your phone will provide you with an unlimited amount of maps so you know where you are at all times.
Portable Power Charger
A portable power source for your electronics is a must have if you are going to be out in the woods for a long period of time. You don’t want your phone dying as you come up to a fork in the road wondering which way to go. If you keep your phone charged, you’ll be able to access all the trials maps through GPS.
Sunglasses
Eyewear is an important item since you will likely be hiking throughout the day. The harsh sun is hard on your eyes without the protection of sunglasses, so make sure these are included in your pack!
Sunscreen
Once again, that sun has no mercy, especially on a hiker’s bare skin. Bring along some sunscreen for protection and a great tip is to get the kind with bug repellent added in to keep you free of bites. A sunscreen stick is also nice for easy on-the-go reapplication while hiking.
Snack
You don’t want to find yourself starving while immersed in the thicket of the woods, so a snack is imperative to keep your energy levels up. Plus, it’s a perfect time to take a break and enjoy the scenery!
