Call me stubborn, but I’ve never been able to purchase a pair of Croc’s for myself. Both of my kids wear them, (daily during the summer) and my wife swears by them. For some reason, I consistently bring a pair of cheap discount store flip-flops when we go camping. They’re what I wear around the campsite, and often turn into my water shoes. I can’t tell you how many sharp pebbles and stones I’ve pulled out of the bottom of the thin rubber sole as they dug into my foot. Horrible.

Things changed for me about 2 weeks ago, when a good friend of mine introduced me to one of the newest men’s sandals from Birkenstock : The EVA Arizona Sandal. Imagine the form, comfort and fit of a Birkenstock sandal (if you’ve never worn one, you’re honestly missing out) – but made out of lightweight EVA material. The provide arch support, and are adjustable using the two belt straps. To top things off, they’re WATERPROOF!
I wore them through a torrential downpour this past weekend, where a traditional shoe or hiker would’ve been destroyed. In the past, I would have even lost one of my flip-flops in the mud. The Birkenstock EVA Arizona’s stayed in place, and when I made it to higher ground, I was able to take them off – and the water ran directly out.
I honestly can’t say enough about these sandals. At $34.95, they’ve become a staple in my camping kit. I might even buy a second pair, just for the backdoor at home.
